Let former IRS agents and managers resolve your dilemma file your back tax returns and settle with the IRS.

If you have not filed a tax return and IRS  is finally is on your case about filing your tax return, it is time to act because IRS is ready to take action.
If you do not file your return after receiving this Notice, IRS will prepare your tax return for you. They will not be good tax preparers. They will figure out the highest possible tax rate for you and file your tax return.

What is the LT 26 telling you about your situation?
That the IRS does not have a record of receiving federal income tax returns for the years indicated in the letter and you have not responded to previous requests to file the returns.
IRS will make sure you are current on all tax filing. You should file all tax returns as well as ES payments.

What you should do now!
You should file the tax returns or contact the Internal Revenue Service or Fresh Start Tax, 1-866-700-1040 to discuss the matter.
If you are a wage earner, IRS or Fresh Start Tax can usually can provide you with your income and withholding information if you do not have the necessary records to complete your returns.
You have a short window to correct this problem!

You have 10 days after receiving the letter to correct the tax situation laid out in the letter.

IRS will file your tax return, 6020B

IRS may file the return for you. If this occurs, the tax liability could be higher than a return completed and filed by you because we must be used Filing Status Single with one exemption. Usually voluntarily filed returns reflect a lower net tax and/or a higher refund amount than a return prepared and filed on your behalf by us.
