Get Copies of Your Tax Return
There are different ways to obtain tax return information. Most requests can be satisfied with a computer printout of your return information called a transcript. However, sometimes you need an exact copy of a previously filed and processed tax return with all attachments (including Form W-2).
Copies are generally available for returns filed for the current and past six years. On jointly filed tax returns, either spouse may request a copy and only the signature from the requesting spouse is required on the Form 4506, Request for Copy of Tax Return (PDF).
You should complete Form 4506 and mail it to the address listed in the instructions, along with a $50 fee for each tax return requested. Yep, it aint free!
Make your check or money order payable to the United States Treasury
Enter your SSN, ITIN, or EIN and “Form 4506 request” on your check or money order
Allow 75 calendar days for us to process your request
If you’re a taxpayer impacted by a federally declared disaster, the IRS waives the usual fees and expedites requests for copies of tax returns for people who need them to apply for benefits or to file amended returns claiming disaster-related losses.
See Federally Declared Disaster Area in Publication 2194, Disaster Resource Guide for Individuals and Businesses (PDF). For additional information about tax relief in disaster situations, refer to Topic No. 107 or call the IRS Disaster Assistance Hotline at 866-562-5227.
To request a copy of a fraudulent return, when someone else used your name and social security number as a primary or secondary filer to file it, use Form 4506-F, Request for Copy of Fraudulent Tax Return (PDF). For more information, see the instructions in Form 4506-F and Instructions for Requesting Copy of Fraudulent Returns.
Transcript of Your Tax Return, read carefully.
We offer various transcript types free of charge. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and lending agencies for student loans and mortgages generally accept a tax return transcript as a substitute for a copy of your return.
You can go to the Get Transcript page to request your transcript now.
You can also order tax return and account transcripts by calling 800-908-9946 and following the prompts in the recorded message, or by completing Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return (PDF) or Form 4506T-EZ, Short Form Request for Individual Tax Return Transcript (PDF) and mailing it to the address listed in the instructions.
Form 4506T-EZ was created only for Form 1040 series tax return transcripts. Allow 10 business days from when the IRS receives your request to receive your transcript.

How does IRS deal With Back Tax Debt?
There are very specific formulas and methodologies that IRS uses to determine how they will deal with tax debt.
At the very beginning you should know that all tax returns must be filed before IRS will close your case. Filing all back tax returns is a must.
If you have not filed your back tax returns, we can have our affordable IRS experts prepare your returns. If you have lost your records or need tax reconstruction, our former IRS agents can assist with this and make this a very seamless process.
IRS uses a basic financial statement to deal with your tax debt. They will use form 433A or 433F, you can find those forms on our website.
IRS will want to review that financial statement along with copies of six months worth of bank statements, copies of all pay stubs along with all monthly expenses to make a determination on the availability possible payments to Internal Revenue Service.
This is not an IRS tax audit just a very surface review of your current financial statement.
You do want to make sure it is correctly filled out and there is an art to that statement.
How does the Internal Revenue Service close a tax debt off their enforcement computer?
IRS uses three basic closing methods after review of your current financial statement.
1.The first closing method is called a hardship or currently not collectible. What this means is, IRS’ reviews your current financial statement and determines you have no money to make payments at this time. The good news is IRS’s off your back for a couple years and the bad news is IRS can review your case in two or three years and penalties and interest continue to run.
Over 40% of all taxpayers who have IRS tax debt have their cases suspended or put in hardship because of their current financial condition.
2. The second closing method is called a monthly payment or installment agreement. After the Internal Revenue Service reviews your current financial statement it may determine you have enough money to make a back payment to them. When you call us we will review that process specifically with you.
6.5 million taxpayers a year are on current monthly payment agreements.
3. The third closing method is called the offer in compromise or the IRS settlement. Some people call this settling for pennies on the dollar.
There is a very specific formula to have an offer in compromise accepted.
Our principal owner is a former IRS agent revenue officer who taught the offer in compromise program at his time in IRS. Our first goal is to settle all cases through the offer in compromise for those who are settlement candidates.
We will let you know on your immediate first consultation whether we can settle your debt.
Over 32,000 people had their offer in compromise settle last year from an average settlement of $9500.

What to Expect from a Florida Sales Tax Audit
The Florida Department of Revenue audits businesses to find out whether state taxes were collected, reported, and paid correctly.
Your tax return was subject to an audit from various obvious reason by the Department of revenue. It’s always best to ask the agent why your returns were subject to a tax audit to help you going for the future.
Although an audit is an enforcement tool to monitor and evaluate tax compliance, it can also be educational and promote voluntary compliance.
During an audit, the Department can help businesses identify and correct bookkeeping problems that could cause additional tax liabilities.
Audits may not always result in an assessment of additional tax, penalty or interest. The auditor may adjust a credit carryover or correct distribution without assessing additional tax. The auditor may even determine that a refund is due.
How/Why Was I Selected for a Florida State Tax Audit?
The methods of audit selection vary by tax.
Some examples of sources used for audit selection are:
• Internal Revenue Service (IRS) information,
• Information sharing programs with other states and state agencies,
• Analysis of Florida tax return information.
When notified of the Department’s intent to audit, you will be informed as to what records you will need to provide.
What records are generally asked for:
• General ledgers and journals
• Cash receipt and disbursement journals
• Purchase and sales journals
• Sales tax exemption or resale certificates
• Florida tax returns
• Federal tax returns
• Depreciation schedules
• Property records
• Other documentation to verify amounts entered on tax returns
Bet you did not know this:
You must keep your records for three years for auditing purposes.
The Department may also audit for periods longer than three years if you did not file a return or payment, or filed a return or payment that was substantially incorrect.
After the audit is complete, you may review the audit findings and proposed changes. The auditor will give you a copy of the work papers and explain your rights, including deadlines for filing protests.
If you agree with the audit findings, you are expected to pay the amount due in full, if any. You have the right to protest the proposed changes if you disagree with them.
Throughout the audit process, communication is vital. One of the things you always want to do is keep the dates and times that the Florida Department of revenue is asking for information. It is absolutely critical.
After the Notice of Intent to Audit Books and Records is issued, the auditor will work with you to set a date to begin the audit. The auditor will give you deadlines for providing information or documentation.
If you need additional time to prepare, or need to request a delay for other reasons, contact the auditor. The auditor will make every effort to accommodate your requests.
If you fail to respond or provide the requested information, the Department may issue an assessment and file a warrant based on the best available information. You must respond or the state will enforce their collection activity.
