Albert Pojols Owes Back Taxes, Tell Me It Ain’t So

Albert Pujols just signed a massive $250 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels, so it would take a pretty hefty tax lien to dent his wallet. This is not that tax lien.

According to documents filed in St. Louis County, Pujols had two separate tax liens filed against him by the Department of Revenue in Missouri in 2011. One is for $423.57, the other is for $306.37.

It’s unclear if Pujols has taken care of the liens yet, but seeing as he made enough money to pay them in the time it took you to read this post … we’re guessing he’ll be fine.

Albert Pujols is certain a baseball legend but that is not quite the case for for his financial advisors.  This is sad that Albert is attached to the media in this fashion. Poor financial advise is to blame. The financial team is probably making high end bucks as well. Something slipped through the cracks.

While these amounts are pocket change for the baseball legend the fact is do you do not need your name associated with owing tax debt.
These amounts may be penalties or interest or possibly tax amounts in disputes. The point is” pay them ” and file a claim for refund when you are a huge star. Albert, you just do not need the publicity.

It is incredible when I see these high end athletes get into to tax trouble.
